Finger Sketches - 2

I like using my iPad as a sketch book. It is really convenient for me to bring it along. I can feel free to sketch anyone at anytime. What I need to do is just moving my finger around on my iPad. It is also easy for me to erase the line I do not want. Thus, I can really finish sketch in minutes. The fastest one is within 1 minute.

Finger Sketches - 1

I started the first sketch on the first day of school after summer break. I sketched a young lady playing her phone. I found it is very fun to sketch people around you. Some of my friends also told me that my sketches really look interesting to them as person in the picture is someone real in our life.

I Am taking MRT train from where i am staying to my work place. Normally it will take around 20 minutes every morning. I used to do reading on my iPad during this period of time. After downloading the drawing application, I decided to try to do sketching. As I do not know which station the person I am drawing will alight, I have to draw out his or her on my iPad as soon as possible. I do not really focus on unnecessary details such facial expression and colours. I just wish to catch the posture as much as I can.

I always wrote down the station name at where I completed the sketch.

Finger Figure ( China people)

I drew two waitresses when I was waiting to be served. The picture was done within 5 minutes. And both of them and their manager were pleased by my drawing. As I was using my index finger to draw on my iPad and the app does not support zoom-in function, I could not work on their face.

However, after this one, I started sketching people on my iPad in public. I focused on their body posture and picked up some interesting ones to draw. I was really using my iPad as a sketchbook. :)

I kept drawing when I was on the train, at the airport, at the restaurant and even on the airplane.

Finger Drawing ( Snapshots at Beijing )

When I visited Beijing in June, I drew some pictures about the shopping mall, cafe, and restaurant over there. Most pictures were done when I was eating for someone to come. I did not wish to focus on the details. I just wish to take a snapshot of how the place looks like.

I did try different types of brushes and combined them into one picture. Please note the crystal hanging bubble lights in one of these pictures. I tried to outline each lights initially. However the picture looked very messy. Thus, I decided to colour the background first and use marker pen to dot on the pastel background colour. It looks much better than outlining all the lights.

Finger Animal 11-20

Here are another 10 cute animals. Please feel free to like them. LOL.

Finger Animal 1-10

I completed a series of pictures of animal when I was on my way back from Chicago to Seoul. First of all, I saw the giraffe in a kid's colouring book given by Korea air. I quickly copied down the giraffe within 2 minutes. I was inspired by its eyes of different sizes. However, i do not really like some of other characters provided in the colouring book. Thus, I decide to do my own big-eye-and-small-eye animals. I spent lot of time drawing my own creations during the entire 12-hour flight. All pictures were done by my index finger.

For all pictures, I just drew out one big eye and one small eye first and sketched the animal. Sometimes I tried a few times as it was not easy to draw out different kinds of animals in a same posture. I had to make some modification here and there. And I had to ensure other people can tell what animal it is at the first glance. Last but not least, I colored my drawings with water colour brush.

My friends all told me they found my drawing of those animals are very cute. What do you think?
